False Griges was a famous French scientist and surgeon who lived in the 19th century. His works are still used by surgeons around the world, and also use his name as a pun, which means the log for opening the surgeon's capsule in the hand ("the doctor's dropper-the surgery drain").

Louis Eugene Grage was born in Dijon in 1766. Since childhood, he showed great interest in medicine; his father was a doctor. Therefore, the boy had the opportunity to study medicine from the age of 5. The father did not insist that his son become a doctor, but he encouraged his interest and did not prevent him from studying. At the age of 14, Louis Eugene entered French medical school.
