Magnerot: an effective magnesium-based product
Magnerot, produced by Wörwag Pharma GmbH in Germany, is a highly effective drug based on magnesium orotate. This drug is available in the form of 500 mg tablets and is widely used in medical practice.
Magnesium is an essential trace element necessary for the normal functioning of the body. It plays a key role in many biochemical processes, including regulation of heart rate, muscle and nervous system function, energy production, and protein synthesis. Magnerot contains an active substance - magnesium orotate, which ensures optimal absorption of magnesium by the body.
Magnerot is widely used for the treatment and prevention of various diseases and conditions. It is effective for cardiac arrhythmias, including ventricular arrhythmias, especially with digitalis intoxication. The drug is also recommended for the prevention of arrhythmias in acute myocardial infarction and the treatment of angina pectoris, including the vasospastic form.
In addition, Magnerot is used for arteritis, atherosclerosis, dyslipoproteinemia and various conditions associated with magnesium deficiency. An increased need for magnesium may occur during pregnancy and lactation, as well as with insufficient intake of magnesium from food or its absorption, as well as with increased excretion of magnesium from the body.
The drug may also be useful in the treatment of alcoholism, including withdrawal symptoms, cachexia, low protein and low-calorie diets. It may help manage some of the complications associated with magnesium deficiency that may occur with diuretics, aminoglycosides, cisplatin, cyclosporine, amphotericin, pentamidine, methotrexate, and laxatives.
It is important to note that Magnerot has some contraindications. Its use is not recommended for impaired renal function, urolithiasis (phosphate and magnesium-calcium stones), as well as for sinoatrial and AV blockade. In some cases, side effects such as diarrhea may occur.
The interaction of Magnerot with other drugs also requires attention. It may reduce the absorption of iron, tetracycline and sodium fluoride. It is important to note that I am providing information based on my last update in September 2021. Please consult a healthcare professional or pharmacist for the most up-to-date information about Magnerot, its uses, contraindications and interactions with other drugs.
