Essence.
There are types of salt with a bitter and astringent taste; bitter salt is close to bavrak. There is crumbling salt, mountain salt, Andaran salt, similar to crystal, and there is petroleum salt, black, the blackness of which comes from its oil content. If black salt is calcined until the oil content flies away from it, then it will become similar to Andaran salt. There is also Indian salt, the blackness of which is not caused by oiliness, but is inherent in its very substance. Sea salt melts as soon as the water reaches it, but mountain salt does not.

Nature.
Hot, dry in the second degree. The more bitter the salt, the hotter it is.

Properties.
Sel cleanses, dissolves, knits and dries due to its ability to dissolve. The astringent property is stronger than all its effects, but it is weakened by the winds. Burnt salt is more drying and more dissolving. It prevents rotting and is useful for thickening the spleen, the “color” of salt is more rarefied than salt itself and than burnt salt, its dust is close to both of these types. Tumors and acne.
Salt with honey and raisins in the form of a medicinal dressing is used for abscesses; mixed with pulegium mint and honey, it is used as an ointment on mucous tumors; it prevents the spread of mucous tumors.
