It is the juice of seven plants which are listed in the Book of Simple Medicines, and especially the milk of the resinous milkweed, the milk of the usshara and the milk of the lagiya. They cause such a burning sensation and excessive diarrhea as from furbiyun, and their strength should be weakened by arc, ghee and cream. The phenomena that arise from them - bloody diarrhea or urination with blood - are treated as taught in their place.
It is said that the milk of the resinous milkweed kills in the amount of two dirhams, and the cure for it is bathing in snow water. And usshara milk kills in the amount of three dirhams within two days and crumbles the liver. It is treated in the same way.
The lethal amount is two dirhams. Its qualities are close to those just mentioned, and the harm from it should be weakened by doug, apple oatmeal, thickly brewed quince juice, thickly brewed rhubarb juice and sumac.
