Ureter Ring-shaped

Ureter anularis, also known as annular ureter, is a developmental anomaly of the urinary system in which the ureter is shaped like a ring or loop. This may be due to various factors, including genetic mutations, intrauterine infections, or trauma.

The ureter is one of the three main components of the human urinary system, which connects the kidneys to the bladder and removes urine from the body. Normally, the ureter is a tube that runs from the renal pelvis to the bladder. However, in a ring-shaped ureter, the ureter may be ring-shaped or coiled into a loop.

Symptoms of a ring ureter may include difficulty urinating, frequent urge to urinate, low back pain, and abdominal discomfort. If the ureter does not function properly, it can lead to urinary retention and urinary tract infections.

Various examination methods are used to diagnose annular ureter, including ultrasound, CT and MRI. Treatment may involve surgical correction, which may involve removing part of the ureter or creating a new channel to drain urine.

Overall, ureteric annularis is a serious urinary tract abnormality that can lead to serious complications. Therefore, it is important to diagnose and treat this condition promptly.
