Morel-Lavallee Symptom

Morel - Lavalier symptom - the presence of small point-like hemorrhages on the mucous membrane of the cheek and alveolar socket with superficial dental caries. It was first described by the French surgeon Morel Lavalier in the 19th century. In 1795, Morel was awarded the title of Academician of Surgical Sciences. Subsequently, his scientific works were cited by a large number of researchers: A. Carre, K. Oppenheim, J. Bend, G. Cook, T. Shvaneva and others, who adhere to the point of view that “Morel was a major surgeon, and sometimes a pathologist.”
