Muscle, Sartorius (M. Sartorius, Pna, Bna, Jna)

The sartorius muscle (lat. Musculus sartorii) is the triceps muscle of the thigh. This is one of the four muscles, when contracted, we straighten the leg at the hip joint. The other two muscles are attached to the medial lip of the acetabulum and to its bottom, and the sartorius is attached to the medial prominence of the femur. And this muscle is not able to stretch the entire leg.

The sartorius muscle is a multi-rotation muscle, that is, its fibers sequentially pass through several joints and, as they “move” from the thigh to the lower leg, they contract more and more. That is why the muscle performs 4 functions at once:
