Suprapubic Region

The suprapubic space, or suprapubic area, is the area of the abdomen located between the symphysis pubis and the upper border of the inguinal ligament area. It is characterized by the location of superficial veins, fiber, fat and muscle tissue.

The suprapubic space contains many important anatomical structures, such as:

- Genital organs of a man or woman; - Umbilical vessels going from the placenta or umbilical cord of the intrauterine fetus to their organs; - Lymph nodes, which serve as filter tanks for lymph collected from all parts of the body;

The suprapubic region contains many anatomical features that can lead to various clinical complications. For example, injury or damage to the lymphatic vessels near the genitals can cause lymph to accumulate in the area, which can cause pain, swelling, and inflammation.
