Anesthesia Rectal

Introduction. Rectal anesthesia is used to achieve general anesthesia in patients with diagnosed diseases of the lower gastrointestinal tract and anus. It must be remembered that this cannot be done without prior anesthesia of the intestines.

Unforeseen situations in medicine. Before talking about the causes of this disease, it is worth understanding what obstruction is. In fact, this is a serious violation of the patency of the affected area of the intestine. The disease is caused by the inability of food and chemicals to pass from the stomach to the intestines. As a result of this pathology, improper absorption of the most important chemical elements, vitamins, macro- and microelements occurs, the water-electrolyte balance is disturbed, which negatively affects the patient’s health.

Unexpected consequences of rectal paralysis. Risk of complications when using local barbiturate anesthesia: retrograde rectal dysfunction, mucosal burn, necrosis, mental state. Due to the fact that local anesthesia of the rectum leads to increased blood pressure, dilation of the coronary arteries and impaired cerebral circulation, there is a risk of myocardial infarction. A relapse of the reflex bubble, the development of an incompatibility reaction and acute intoxication of the body are also possible. The danger lies in the precise development of allergic reactions when toxins come into contact with the skin. The patient may feel weak, hot, chills, and fever. Restlessness and trembling occur. Swelling of the soft palate and pharynx may appear. As a result, it is difficult for the patient to speak and breathe fully. If too much of the drug enters the bloodstream, cardiovascular function may be impaired. To avoid the occurrence of such symptoms, all manipulations are carried out strictly under the supervision of an experienced specialist after reviewing the patient’s health record. Before the procedure, a general history is taken, the patient's skin is examined, and a rectal examination of the rectum is performed. This allows us to identify the presence of tumors and ulcers in the pelvic area and identify pathological processes in the anus. If pathologies are detected, adequate therapy and prednisolone and other drugs are prescribed.
