The nasal bone (os nasale) is a paired (on the sides it consists of two symmetrical halves) large bone of the base of the skull. The upper and lower surfaces of the shell bone end at the edges with vertical edges, between which there is a bony protrusion of the nasal process of the shell. Along these same edges there are several vertical dental openings, below which the nasal opening is located.
The nose bone is one of 200 facial bones and one of six paired ones. It is mastered by the structure of the body and the semicircular notch that comes out on the front of the lower nasal opening. Maxillofacial surgery is impossible without the ideal quality of the nasal bone surface. In order for all the tissues and ligaments to be in place, there must be a strong and smooth surface around the nose. That is why it is so important to preserve the natural shape and not damage the soft tissues during injury or fracture.
The tactile bone is the upper part of the body, the base of the nose, arched back, and the lower part. The walls of the nostrils are made using the ossive channel of the nasal septum, which runs across. This bone is called the ethmoid bone. Each bone contains a venous and liminal organ, which are divided into two. The underside of the second lateral organ (concha) connects to the membrane with the venous cavernous organ. The liminal cavity passes through the nasal bone, which communicates with the supraarcular sinus.
The operation can be performed during the correction of a broken body of the nose and when restoring the shape of the external and internal nasal openings in case of modiolus tumors. With rare exceptions, when correcting the profile of the nose, surgery can be performed even after some months after the injury. Particular attention should be paid to correction of the nasal septum in cases where the base of the septal cartilage or bone fragment becomes immobile.
The nasal bone (os nasalis) is one of the eight paired bones of the skull, located in its front part. In humans, it consists of two parts - the upper (osnasale superius) and the lower (os nasare inferius).
The upper part is located between the cribriforme plate and the nasal sinuses. It has the shape of a curved quadrangle, the length of which is about 4-5 centimeters. The lower part of the nasal bone is located next to the upper one and is also located between the ethmoid plates of the ethmoid bone (ethmoidalis). It also has the shape of a quadrangle, about 3.5 centimeters long. Between the top and bottom is a gutter called the nasolacrimal duct, which is used to drain tears.
The nasal bone is connected to the external concha (carum externum nasi), which is part of the external nose, as well as the auditory (tympanica) and sphenoid (sphenoidalis) bones.
The function of the nasal bone is to strengthen the external nose and create channels for transporting air and fluid into the nose.
