**Sodium PerTechnetate 99mTc Extraction**
Sodium pertechnetlate is a solution preparation that consists of a complex of the isotope technetium (99) and sodium bismuylanate, and is used in medical imaging to diagnose a number of diseases. The drug is obtained by extraction, which means that it is extracted from natural sources such as the mineral sodium perchlorite. Before this drug is used as a radiopharmaceutical, it is first dried and sterilely cleaned to prevent possible allergic reactions.
As an isotope agent, technetium is used by the body to absorb various nutrients. It is the use of technetium that has made it possible to create more accurate and realistic images during medical imaging procedures. Technetium is quite long-lived and can remain in the body for weeks without any danger.
One dose of 99Tc consists of eight to nine milligrams of technetium isothorium. At therapeutic dosage, the patient usually receives three to five doses
