Valve Insufficiency Secondary

Secondary valve insufficiency (i.valve secundaria, i.vas secundi; obsolete name: heart valve insufficiency, lat. Insufficientia valvularum cardiacarum) - a condition in which the fraction of blood ejected by the left ventricle into the arterial bed with each contraction of the heart is insufficient for adequate filling right ventricle (normally this occurs due to its good tone and additional infusion of blood from the vena cava when systemic blood pressure decreases after emptying of the right ventricle caused by systolic contractility).
