Nerve Supraorbital

The supraorbital nerve can be thought of as a canal that runs along the top of the head above the orbit of the eye. It is part of the facial nerve, which transmits signals to the facial muscles and allows the movement of the eyelids.

The supraorbital nerve uses the sympathetic nervous system to control the response to stress, whether physical or emotional. When a person feels stressed, it can cause blood vessels to constrict, leading to increased blood pressure and increased heart rate. In this case, the supraorbital nerve is responsible for controlling reactions to stress. Once we begin to experience physical, emotional and psychological signs of stress, the supraorbital nerve needs to shut down this response in order to restore normal functioning of the body.
