Nerve Saphenous

The saphenous nerve is a branch of the peroneal nerve, which is one of the 8 cranial nerves. It is responsible for the innervation of the muscles of the back of the leg, thigh and perineum. The main functions of this nerve include controlling reflex movements and sensations in the legs.

The saphenous nerve is a very important element in the mechanism of regulation of blood circulation in the lower extremities. It transmits signals from the skin and peripheral nerves responsible for sensation and temperature to the central nervous system
