Nevus Fibroepithelial

Fibroepithelial nevus (naevus fibroepithelialis; synonym: fibroma pendulum, fibropapilloma) is a benign skin tumor arising from fibroepithelial tissue.

It is characterized by the presence of a soft fibrous stroma covered by normal epidermis. Most often localized on the neck, torso, and limbs. Clinically manifests itself as a soft, painless formation of brownish-pink color with a smooth surface, hanging on a stalk and capable of swaying.

Diagnosis is based on the clinical picture and histological examination. Differential diagnosis is carried out with fibroma, papilloma, nevus and other skin tumors.

Surgical treatment is excision of the formation. The prognosis is favorable. Recurrences after removal are rare.
