Nucleus Periventricular

The periventricular nucleus (lat. nucleus paraventricularis) is a relatively small nucleus located in the central part of the anterior nucleus of the thalamus. This small and insignificant neural ensemble is associated with the regulation of emotional states, homeostasis and the autonomic nervous system. The nucleus regulates body functions, including autonomic responses to stress, thus regulating the body’s basic vital functions.\n
