All this happens from bad fluid that rots in the teeth. Treatment. The goal in treating corrosion is to prevent the corrosion from growing larger. This is achieved by purifying the corrupted matter and dissolving the matter that causes it. Next, the tooth is prevented from accepting this matter from the tooth through bowel movements if they are needed.
Medicines that prevent corrosion are drying. If the corrosion is severe, then a strong medicine is required, which significantly dries and warms; if it is weak, then something that slightly dries and binds, such as myrtle, khudad, spikenard, is enough. These medicines are consumed in all the ways mentioned, but most of them belong to the fillings. This includes stuffing the tooth with sukk with saty or sukk with musk: it prevents corrosion and soothes pain. Or they fill the tooth with mastic and syt, or myrrh, or maya, or galls with khudad, or maya with opium, or galban with yellow sulfur and khudad, or turpentine tree resin with pepper, or sukk with turpentine tree resin, forest mint, crushed nigella and mixed with vinegar and honey, or sulfur in the form of a filling or ointment, or ginger boiled with copper and vinegar this is extremely useful, or asafoetida with kitran, or asafoetida with citvar wormwood, or asafoetida alone, which is boiled with wax so that it does not dissolved, it very soothes pain, either with amber alone or with medicine, or with khudad with vitriol. Camphor was tested in fillings, and it turned out to be extremely useful, as it prevents the increase in corrosion and soothes pain.
When corroded, you should resort to the help of what was previously mentioned in the paragraph on toothache. Sometimes at the same time they use ointments from beaver stream, saliva, opium and galbanum in equal parts, or from pepper, cardamom and honey, or from saliva and myrrh with honey, or pistachios with honey, or from good earth into which boiling vinegar has been poured, or from the liver of a lizard, or from living sulfur with the same amount of khudad, or from pepper with yattu milk, or from bavrak with saliva, or from galbanum and henbane seeds, or from maya with opium. An excellent medicine: take bavrac and henbane in two parts each, saliva and pepper in one part each, opium three parts, and place it on the sore spot. And one more thing: take maya, pomegranate, pepper and juniper one part each, larkspur, nettle seeds and opium half a part each.
Sometimes it is used as a filling or lubricant, and sometimes the following medicine is placed on the sore spot: strong kalkandiyun or colchicum or lime, two parts, ammonia, alum, myrrh, galls, acacia, “orris root,” one part each, burnt barley and sea foam. Galban is often added to this.
Of the rinses that are kept in the mouth, sometimes this is very useful: boil the roots of capers with vinegar until half of the vinegar is gone, and keep it in the mouth. Sometimes drops are used directly into the corroded hollow. For example, they take arsenic diluted in olive oil, in which arsenic boils, and drop it into a corroded hollow. It is also useful to put almond oil in your mouth near the corroded tooth.
