Ophthalmodynamometer

**Ophthalmodynamic meter**r is a tool for measuring the force of compression and relaxation of the eyeballs under the influence of ophthalmological pathologies.

According to the principle of operation, the O. is a general-purpose instrument and can have different designs for various clinical diagnostic studies - indirect or contact O., although direct O. are also found. According to the structure, O. are eye-measuring.

O., standardized according to the maximum load limit, are suitable for assessing the sensitivity of the visual analyzer in blind and visually impaired persons, clarifying the degree of limitation of visual functions in children before intracranial surgery and determining the range of movements in the joints of the orbits. O. is not intended to determine visual acuity. Its use requires a mandatory previous study of visual acuity using specialized equipment. During the study, visual functions are not taken into account. The method allows you to obtain objective data on the state of the visual apparatus. The reliability of the assessment by the O. method depends on the correct selection of the subject, the type of ophthalmodynamometer, and the technical competence of the researcher. Absolute error, assessed subjectively, fluctuates
