Fire Operation

**Fire surgery** is a type of endovascular surgery performed to treat varicose veins. It was developed by Soviet surgeon Valentin Ognev in 1956. The operation involves inserting a special tourniquet containing polyvinyl alcohol into a thrombosed varicose vessel, which coagulates the varicose veins.

Surgical treatment of varicose veins by introducing into a vein a special fibrin (coagulation) tourniquet with a certain content of many useful substances and other materials in it is the basic and main method of surgery
