-Oma (Ear of a Faun, Ear of a Satyr)

-Oma (from the Greek -oma - “neoplasm”, “tumor”) is a suffix used in medical terminology to refer to tumors.

Faun's ear, or satyr's ear, is a deformation of the auricle in which its upper part resembles the ear of the mythological creature faun or satyr. This anomaly is a congenital deformation of the cartilage of the ear, in which the shell takes on a conical or cylindrical shape.

This ear is similar to the ears of characters from ancient Greek and Roman mythology - fauns and satyrs. Fauns were depicted as forest spirits with goat legs, horns and ears. Satyrs also had animal ears, tails and hooves. This is where the names of this anomaly come from - “Faun’s ear” or “Satyr’s ear”.
