Omentoovariopexy

Omentoovariopexy is a surgical procedure aimed at strengthening the position of the ovaries in the pelvis. As a result of the operation, the ovaries are fixed to the anterior abdominal wall using a special omenthosal flap.

Omentoovariopexy is performed in the presence of factors that can lead to ovarian displacement and decreased fertility:

  1. Insufficient development of the ligamentous apparatus of the pelvis;
  2. Ovarian prolapse;
  3. Endometriosis;
  4. Postpartum ruptures and sprains of the ligamentous apparatus.

The operation is performed under general anesthesia and lasts about 1-2 hours. An omentoovariopex flap is formed from the omentum, which is taken during surgery, and is fixed to the ovaries. The flap is firmly attached to the anterior abdominal wall and fixes the ovaries in the correct position.

After surgery, the patient may experience discomfort in the abdominal area, which goes away after a few days. Minor bleeding is also possible, which quickly stops after treating the wound.

Overall, omentoovariopexy is considered a safe and effective procedure that can help strengthen the position of the ovaries and improve fertility in women. However, before the operation it is necessary to undergo an examination and consult a doctor.

Omentoovariopexis is a surgical intervention to strengthen the ligamentous apparatus of the uterus or vagina, or to remove them from the genital slit. Omentocele occurs when an additional pocket forms between the walls of the uterus and the edge of the symphysis. Thanks to omentovariopexy, the vaginal walls are strengthened and prolapse of the vaginal and cervical uterus is prevented.
