Gangrenous omphalitis - erysipelas from the stomach
Description of the pathology This pathology refers to purulent-inflammatory diseases of the umbilical wound with an uncharacteristic local course in the area of the umbilical ring, fatty tissue and abdominal wall. The affected area is larger than the navel and can involve the skin of the anterior abdominal wall and lower limb. A distinctive feature is a slow, sluggish development process and a poor tendency to self-heal (healing without scars).
