Toxic thyroid adenoma is a benign tumor in the thyroid gland that leads to excessive production of thyroid hormones.

Symptoms of toxic thyroid adenoma: weakness, irritability, sleep disturbances, weight loss, sweating, palpitations, trembling hands.

Upon palpation of the thyroid gland, a node of dense consistency with clear boundaries is determined, not fused with the surrounding tissues.

When scintigraphy of the thyroid gland, increased accumulation of radiopharmaceuticals in the node is observed against the background of reduced or absent accumulation in the rest of the gland tissue.

The levels of triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) are elevated in the blood.

Treatment of toxic thyroid adenoma is surgical.
