Orbach Method

Orbach Edward Joseph (October 26, 1851, Pittsburgh - March 28, 1917, Ellwood) - American surgeon. He was a professor at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1892 he discovered a new method of treating wounds by alternating suction of pus and rinsing with an antiseptic. This method is called the Orbax method. In contrast to the technique of Ludwig suture (Wittmann) and bandage (Naegeli bandage) proposed before him by that time, in which suction from the wound began, removal of the tampon with solution, suction again and repetition of the procedure.
