Osteoma Extraosseous

Extraosseous osteomea is a condition that results from the appearance of an extra layer of bone called an osteoblastic anomaly. This extra layer of bone may be inside or outside the main bone. In some cases, it can lead to the development of a tumor.

The causes of extraosseous osteomata are unknown, but scientists suggest that it may be associated with genetic factors. Some studies show that heredity may increase the risk of developing this pathology.

Symptoms of this disease may include swelling, swelling, and tenderness in the affected area. Some people may not have any symptoms at all. However, if the tumor develops inside the bone, it can cause pressure on surrounding tissue and nerves. Due to tumor growth, dysfunction of the affected organ may also occur.

Diagnosis of extraosseous osteoma may include x-rays, computed tomography, or magnetic resonance imaging. If necessary, a biopsy of the tumor may be performed to determine its nature.
