Patellar osteopathy is a medical condition involving damage to the knee bone and surrounding tissues. It is characterized by chronic pain in the patella region and is often combined with pathological changes in the knee joint. Osteopathy of the patella can be treated using a combination of physical exercises, manual therapy, medications and other treatment methods.
This condition occurs most often as a result of injury or overexertion, and also as a complication of joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout and osteochondrosis. Other causes of the disease may include a lack of calcium in the body, infectious diseases, hormonal disorders, endocrine diseases and a sedentary lifestyle.
Osteopathy, patellar joint syndrome (specific damage to the ligamentous apparatus of the knee joint, characterized by severe diffuse pain against the background of stiffness of the knee joint), can manifest itself with various symptoms:
- pain in the knee joint when extending the knee;
- “local” absence of pain in a certain position of the lower leg;
