Otoanthritis

Otoanthritis is an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the middle ear, characterized not only by the presence of discharge from the ear canal, but also by the transfer of the inflammatory process to the bone walls and other structures.

Otoanthritis is divided into infectious (caused by pyogenic microbes) and allergic. The latter include Farber's disease, in which there is perforation of the eardrum with leakage of contents from the ear; since this disease is allergic, therefore urticaria is also a symptom of the disease. According to the prevalence of the process, otoantrum antrum (only the middle ear is affected), otoantrum and tubar (tubes are also affected), otoantrum and tympanum or otitis-tube purulent otitis media are distinguished. Otoantrum is divided into the following forms: catarrhal (swelling, hyperemia, swelling of the mucous membrane of the tympanic cavity); sclerotic (sticking of folds of mucous membrane in different areas); fibrous (deposition of lymphoid follicles on the serous mucosa of the middle ear); cystic: for
