Parasitology

**Parasitology** is the science of parasites (their morphology, physiology, genetics, ecology, distribution and significance in nature and human life).

Parasites can be harmful and beneficial to the body. One group of parasitic organisms helps the host to endure certain physiological stresses. Such parasites are helminths; they live in the bodies of some animals and humans. Helminths help process most of the nutrients during their processing - in such a situation it is not worth saying that parasites are useful. All this applies to parasites that live in humans. Many of the helminths are considered deadly to humans because they parasitize other organs - thus, such parasites can only be combated by contacting an infectious disease doctor. Helminths have a negative impact on the functioning of internal organs, as a result of which metabolism is disrupted, vitamins and minerals are less absorbed, and the body becomes weaker and more frail. The parasite can penetrate the host's tissues, disrupting their functioning. The waste products of the parasite negatively affect a person, destroying substances valuable to the body - as a result, a person often faces exhaustion, and possibly even dementia.
