Perigastritis, according to the Nomenclature of Clinical Terms, is considered an abdominal disease of the alimentary tract, which is accompanied by damage to the stomach and duodenum, but not only them, also affecting surrounding organs and tissues. This category includes inflammatory processes that have affected the infiltrate, which has spread beyond the stomach or duodenum, as well as nearby organs. This may be the periscidium or the actual outer base of the stomach. Also included in this clinical category are inflammatory processes in the connective tissue around the stomach and intestines (so-called perihepatitis), as well as any intestinal diseases that are gastrogenic in nature.
