Perineorrhaphy

Perineorrhaphy is the surgical restoration of the structure, location and continuity of the external genitalia. May also be called vaginoperineovaginoplasty. For the procedure to be successful (as with any other surgical procedure), the patient must, at a minimum, be a virgin from birth. This is the requirement for surgical intervention. In other words, the elasticity and thickness of the hymen is sufficient for its restoration. If the hymen has been damaged or torn before, or partially or completely lost due to physical violence, the question of vaginoperineoplasty arises.
