Periostitis Tuberculous

Periostitis is a disease that occurs as a result of inflammation of the bone tissue of the jaw. Most often it is caused by various infections and bacteria, such as streptococci, staphylococci and others. Sometimes periostitis can be associated with other diseases such as tuberculosis or syphilis. In this case, it is called “tuberculous periostitis.”

Periostitis is a fairly common disease among the population. Its symptoms may include pain in the gums, cheek or face, swelling, flushing, increased body temperature, bad breath, and general symptoms such as fatigue, headache and decreased appetite. In some cases, periostitis can also lead to the formation of a fistula, which can leak pus and blood from the infected tissue.
