Peritoneography

Peritoneography is a method of x-ray examination of the abdominal cavity. It consists of introducing a radiopaque contrast agent into the abdominal cavity, followed by fluoroscopy or radiography.

The purpose of peritoneography is to identify pathological changes in the abdominal organs, peritoneum, as well as to detect free fluid or gas in the abdominal cavity.
