Perclusone has anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects. The mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes, which leads to a decrease in the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid.

The drug is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute attacks of gout. Can also be used for the symptomatic treatment of back, muscle and joint pain.

Perclusone is usually well tolerated, but can sometimes cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache. Allergic reactions are rare.
