Baby's First Fun

Baby's first entertainment: exercise toy

From the earliest months of life, the baby begins to be interested in the world around him. And one of his first entertainments can be bright and colorful toys that can be hung above the crib. We invite you to create your own exercise toy that will help your baby develop and learn new movements.

To begin with, select bright and interesting objects of different shapes and sizes. These can be rattles, balls, bells, Christmas tree decorations made of paper or foil, origami figures, as well as pictures with bright images. It is important not to overload the toy with objects - from 3 to 7 is enough. And have the opportunity to sometimes replace them with new ones so that the baby does not get bored.

Then, to create the training toy itself, you will need two (or more) thin slats or wires, approximately 15 and 25 cm long. Hang two toys on a strong fishing line at the ends of the smaller slats. Both pendants must be the same length. Find the center of gravity of the structure and mark this point. Attach the third toy to one end of the long rail. Attach the first rail with the toys already hanging to its other end. Find the center of gravity of the structure. So, moving from bottom to top, you can complicate the mobile by adding new floors.

To attach the mobile to the crib, you will need a special bracket or a homemade one made from wooden slats, bent thick wire or an aluminum tube. The fastening must be strong and inaccessible to the baby.

If you want interaction with a training toy to stimulate your baby's grasping movements, you can create a rainbow-type design. Sew a tube measuring 160*25 cm from bright fabric, stuff it tightly, and insert a frame made of rigid wire bent in half inside. Or take half an aluminum hoop and wrap it with brightly colored ribbon. Straighten the ends of the rainbow and attach to the vertical bed frame using ribbons or Velcro loops.

Only those objects that the baby can study independently can be attached to a rainbow-type structure. Place them at such a height that the baby can reach the toys if desired.

So, a training toy is a great first entertainment for your baby. She will help him develop, learn new movements, and have fun on his own. Create your own exercise toy using colorful and interesting objects and place it above your baby's crib. Communication with a training toy will help the baby improve his observation skills, coordination of movements, and also stimulates grasping movements. Please note that the baby’s safety should come first, so the attachment of the toy should be strong and inaccessible to the baby. Don't forget to periodically change toys for new ones to renew your baby's interest.
