Pharyngitis Chronic

**Pharingitis** is an inflammation of the pharynx and its mucous membrane. It can be either acute or chronic. Pharyngitis can be caused by various reasons such as infections, allergies, injuries, irritants, etc.

Strep throat is usually caused by an infection. It manifests itself as sore throat, swelling, increased body temperature, and possibly damage to the tonsils. Treatment for strep throat usually includes antibiotics or antivirals, as well as gargling and analgesics.

Chronic pharyngitis can also occur due to infections or allergies.
