Pica syndrome 3 is a rare mental disorder characterized by delusional and hallucinatory experiences. It was described by French psychiatrist Pierre Jean Marie Pica in the 19th century. Pica associated this condition with damage to the nervous system, which is confirmed by neurological studies of his patients at the present time. Peak 3 syndromes have subtle symptoms, making diagnosis difficult. They may present with a variety of symptoms, including depersonalization, attention disorder, anxiety, and psychomotor agitation.
