Pyrazidol

Pyrazidol

Pyrazidol is an antidepressant used to treat various types of depression and anxiety. It can also be used to treat schizophrenia and alcoholism. The antidepressant activity of pyrazidol is achieved by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine. This leads to increased levels of these neurotransmitters in synaptic spaces, which in turn improves mood, reduces feelings of fatigue and increases energy.

When monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including pyrazidol, are used, foods rich in tyramine (such as cheese, eggs, mushrooms, and alcohol) should be avoided as tyramine can lead to a buildup of dopamine and side effects such as nausea and vomiting. Pyrazidol can be taken with food and drinks, but it must be taken into account that alcohol is also a monoaminoinhibitor
