Title: Pneumonia in newborns
Pneumonia in newborns occurs due to intrauterine infection, aspiration of amniotic fluid, immaturity of lung tissue and other reasons. There are intrauterine and acquired pneumonia.
With intrauterine pneumonia, lethargy, regurgitation during feeding, and intestinal paresis are observed. There are wheezing in the lungs. Characterized by large loss of body weight and slow recovery.
Acquired pneumonia is manifested by cyanosis, shortness of breath, cough, and wheezing in the lungs. Respiratory failure is severe. In children with low body weight, symptoms may be erased.
The diagnosis is made on the basis of anamnesis, clinical picture and radiography. Treatment includes antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and infusion therapy. With timely treatment, the prognosis is favorable.
Prevention consists of preventing infections in the mother during pregnancy, fetal asphyxia and proper care of the newborn.
