Staphylococcal pneumonia (staphylococcal, staphylomycemia). Staphylococcal pneumonia is an acute inflammatory pathology of the lungs caused by staphylococcal microorganisms, most often of the golden variety. About 40% of cases of staphylococcal pneumonia occur in seriously ill patients who are in intensive care units. Only in extremely rare cases are other types of bacteria the causative agent of the infection.
