Apical pneumonia (p. apica) pneumonia is called inflammation of the apexes of the lungs, in which the process is limited to the limits of the lung volumes, where there are no terminal bronchioles and pulmonary vesicles. Examples of affected lungs are the apical regions and the upper outer portion of the lungs.
