**Renal tubules** are tubular structures of the kidneys that are separated from the underlying nephrons by a narrow, slit-like interstitial space filled with capillaries.

The length of the tubules is 30-40 mm, the lumen area is 2.5 cm². On the outside, they are covered with a connective tissue capsule; supporting intercellular cytoplasmic processes run along the walls. The interstitium of the perivascular spaces contains small lymphatic follicles.
