Prurigo diathesis, also known as diathesis eczema, is one of the most common types of eczema. It appears as an itchy rash on the skin, which can be caused by various factors such as allergens, food additives, stress, changes in weather and other external or internal factors.
This form of eczema is common in children, especially infants, and can be quite distressing for the child and their parents. It can appear on any part of the body, but most commonly affects the face, neck, arms and legs.
The main symptom of diathesis prurigo is an itchy rash on the skin. The child may scratch the affected areas of the skin until they bleed. The skin may also become dry and flaky, which can lead to infection.
Treatment for prurigo diathesis includes using a mild cleanser when bathing, moisturizing the skin, using topical products to relieve itching and prevent infection, and avoiding foods that cause an allergic reaction from the diet.
In some cases, the use of medications such as antihistamines, glucocorticosteroids and immunomodulators is necessary. However, these drugs should only be used under medical supervision.
In general, diathesis pruritus is an unpleasant but treatable disease. If you notice symptoms of prurigo diathesis in your child, be sure to contact your doctor for advice on treating and caring for your child's skin.
