Submandibular Fossa

The submandibular fossa is an anatomical formation on the face. The submandibular fossa is located above the collarbone, on both sides of it. This is a deep recess under the jaw, providing greater mobility when opening the mouth, as well as participation in the formation of the lower jaw. In addition, this fossa contains nodal lymph nodes, which serve as a barrier filter for infection to enter the body.
