The axillary region is the area of the body inside or near the axilla and on the side of the inner surface of the shoulder, in the space between the deltoid muscle and the pectoralis major muscle (which is why the latter are called the axillary muscles), laterally (to the side) relative to the arteries and veins (axillary nerve and axillary trunk, branches of the small and large nerve ganglia). It consists of the supraspinatus tendon, the pectoralis major tendon, fascia, several layers of muscle and fatty tissue. Covered by one brachial nerve. The superficial fascia forms a powerful plate at the medial edge - an aponeurosis.
