Subluxation is damage to the ligamentous apparatus of the joints, as a result of which it diverges in different directions. It is mainly observed in the hip joint, a little less often in the shoulder joint.
Types of subluxations - Immobilizing/stable (without displacement of the articular surfaces) - knee, shoulder and elbow joints. In some cases they are considered a pathology. - Damage to soft tissues - ligaments and joint capsule with partial displacement of articular surfaces. — Incompetence of the condyles — the formation of a femoro-acetabular conflict and displacement of the heads of the femur or humerus beyond the acetabulum/process of the scapula while maintaining their fixation by the capsule, ligaments and musculotendinous apparatus. - Degenerative-dystrophic (signs of arthrosis) against the background of hip dysplasia - congenital dislocation of the hip. Treatment The best method of treatment is surgery with open reduction, reduction of the dislocation and restoration of the integrity of the ligamentous-capsular apparatus. However, this manipulation is not possible in all cases due to complications. Therefore, conservative treatment is acceptable for stable uncomplicated subluxation.
