Polyarthritis Brucellosis

Brucellosis, or an acute infectious disease caused by a pathogen from the genus Brucella, manifests itself in a very diverse manner. Its main symptoms are high body temperature and inflammation in the joints. If small joints are affected, the disease may not manifest itself for several weeks and people live normal lives, unaware of the onset of brucellosis. The initial symptoms of brucellosis also appear sluggishly. Complaints are most often either periodic pain in the muscles or joints of the limbs, or not very intense pain in the calves and lower back. Gradually, pain begins to occur in the jaw, knee, ankle, elbow or wrist joints. Pain (rheumatic) can affect the joints of both arms and legs; patients note its inconsistency, changes in intensity in the morning and evening hours. It affects mainly adults aged 20–40 years. Men suffer from Brucella twice as often as women. The maximum incidence occurs in spring and summer. The nature of the incidence, the possible time of infection, the results of the studies do not exclude the possibility of intrauterine infection of the fetus or the occurrence of the disease as a result of contact with water and soil, as well as ingestion of exotoxin secreted by staphylococci with saliva, which can lead to
