Appendix 1 Color Dictionary

The following basic terms will help you understand the basics of choosing cosmetic shades.

Warm colors are colors with yellow or golden undertones.

Cool colors are colors with blue undertones.

Neutral colors are colors that have neither yellow nor blue undertones. In addition, these are shades that contain very little color and/or those that harmonize with both warm and cool colors.

Intermediate colors are colors such as turquoise, green and crimson, in which it is very difficult to determine the undertone.

Color harmony - the colors of blush, lipstick and nail polish should match. This creates the overall color scheme of the makeup.

Contrast is the relationship between skin tone and the intensity of hair color and shade. This helps determine the most acceptable shades of cosmetics.
