Pringle's Steatocystoma Multiple

Pringle's steatacystoma is a multilocular cyst located directly under the serosa of the stomach. The disease remains unrecognized for a long time and leads to complications, the most dangerous of which is malignant degeneration. Today, innovative treatment methods, including surgical ones, are being actively developed and applied, thanks to which such a risk factor as Pringle cysts completely disappears from the patient’s life.

Pringle cysts often form in younger adults, as well as in older people. However, in practice, the most common manifestation of the disease is diagnosed in men over 50 years of age. The pathology occurs in Russia both among the urban population and in rural areas. Every year, pringle cyst is detected in up to 30 thousand Russian patients aged 18 to 65 years.

The provoking factors of the pathological process, which in international language is “multiple Pringle cyst,” are chronic gastritis, gastroduodenitis, peptic ulcer, duodenogastric reflux. Most often, residents of large cities suffer from the disease.

If the pathology is diagnosed in the early stages, and the size of the cyst does not exceed 2.5-3 cm, then therapeutic treatment is used aimed at reducing intra-abdominal pressure by removing excess gases. If the disease is diagnosed at the advanced stage, when the size of the cysts reaches more than 5 cm, surgical intervention is performed, which involves removing the tumor.
