Puncture

A puncture is a small injury to the skin or other tissue caused by a sharp object, such as a needle.

Reasons for puncture:

  1. A needle prick while sewing or administering medication.
  2. An injection from a paper clip, pin, splinter or other sharp objects.

Symptoms:

  1. A small bleeding wound on the skin.
  2. Pain at the puncture site.

Treatment:

  1. Wash the wound with an antiseptic.
  2. Apply a bandage or adhesive plaster to prevent infection.
  3. If the pain is severe, you can take a pain reliever.

Possible complications:

  1. Infection of the wound.
  2. Inflammation (if foreign particles get into the wound).

Prevention:

  1. Be in
