Pharmacology

Non-narcotic analgesic. Causes depression of the central nervous system, mainly due to inhibition of the inversely mediated uptake of n-norepinephrine and serotonin (3S, 4R). The pharmacological effect is due to the anergic activity of opioid receptors, displacement of circulating catecholamines (norepinephrine in the synapses of interneuronal connections), thyroxine, triiodothyronine, prolactin , sex hormones, insulin and inhibition of the reverse neuron-insulin-modulating effect of the latter.
